This Privacy Policy explains what information Open Cloud Gate™ (operated by Spark Fire Technologies) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information: your email address and a securely hashed (never plaintext) password.
Billing information: handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor — we receive your subscription status but never see or store your full card number.
Login and security information: the IP address of each sign-in, and an approximate location derived from that IP address (city/region/country-level, via a third-party IP geolocation lookup). This is not GPS or device location — we don't have access to your device's actual location — and it's used only to detect logins to the same account from implausibly distant locations in a short time window, as a signal of possible credential sharing.
Device information: if you enroll a device (e.g. a computer running our desktop client), we store a device identifier and its public key; we never see or store your device's private key.
We use this information to operate your account, process billing, provide customer support, secure the Service (including the login-monitoring described above), and communicate with you about your account (e.g. password reset emails, billing receipts, service updates).
We share information with the service providers that help us run Open Cloud Gate, and only as needed for them to provide that service:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We retain account and login data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for security, fraud-prevention, and legal/accounting purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).
Passwords are hashed with scrypt and never stored or transmitted in plaintext. Device authentication uses per-device Ed25519 key pairs where the private key never leaves your device. All communication with our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS).
You can review and update your account email and password from your account page at any time. To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account, email support@opencloudgate.com.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know (such as an email to your account address).
